Egypt: Al-Sissi engaged to relieve Libya from the regional interference of militia.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi informed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that Egypt is engaging to help Libyans rid their country of armed militias and terrorist organizations, and put an end to the blatant interference of some regional parties.
Libya plunged into the chaos after the overthrow of dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, backed by NATO. Actually, it has been divided since 2014 with the control of the capital, Tripoli, and the northwest by the government, while military leader Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi governs the east. In fact, Haftar is backed by the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Russia, whereas the government is supported by Turkey.
