“Love in the dungeon” … Belmarsh prison brings together Assange and Morris

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and his partner Stella Morris plan to marry in prison.

According to Morris, the move will be made before Assange’s 50th birthday, which falls on July 3rd.

The Australian-born journalist, Assange has spent more than two years in London’s high-security Belmarsh prison.

Assange’s relationship with Morris began during his time at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he sought political asylum.

The couple now have two boys, aged four, two and a half.

Last January, the US expressed disappointment that the British judiciary refused to extradite Julian Assange.

His lawyers are planning to demand his release from a London prison where he has been held for more than a year and a half.

U.S. prosecutors have charged Assange with 17 spying charges and one computer misuse charge for the publication of leaked military and diplomatic documents by his Wikileaks site a decade ago.

The maximum sentence for these charges is 175 years.

Lawyers for the 49-year-old Australian argue that he was a journalist and is entitled to First Amendment Freedom of Expression Protection for publishing leaked documents that revealed US military irregularities in Iraq and Afghanistan.
