Slanders and Lies About Jordan… What Are the Brotherhood’s Aims?

Former Jordanian minister Samih Al-Maaytah stated that the lies and slanders recently spread by the Muslim Brotherhood through their media – alleging that Jordan charges fees on aid sent to Gaza – are trivial fabrications, but their goal is to suggest that Jordan is not honest with the people of Gaza. This claim has been denied by humanitarian organizations working with the Hashemite Charity Organization, which is responsible for delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.

In an article published by the official newspaper Al-Rai, Al-Maaytah added: “The issue is not about fees, but about an attempt to pressure the state on the Brotherhood file and the Islamic Action Front Party, which is still represented in Parliament. However, this slander will not change the state’s conviction or its decision to go all the way in removing the group from the Jordanian state structure and to deal with any violations according to the law.” He noted that all acts of blackmail from the Brotherhood abroad will not alter the reality, but will in fact accelerate the steps being taken to their conclusion.

Al-Maaytah stressed that the Brotherhood abroad – and even those still hiding in Jordan – know that those who were arrested after the ban have opened sealed information vaults, and that the group’s financial file in all its details is now known to concerned authorities.
