UAE doctors launch global initiative to treat 1 million elderly people
The UAE Doctors Initiative launched the first global humanitarian initiative to treat 1 million elderly people from all over the world, regardless of color, sex, race or religion, in conjunction with the Day of Increasing Humanity and as part of the global campaigns Growing Humanity. “Do not paralyze them.”
The Million Year Old People’s Therapy Campaign, which is the first of its kind in Sudan, Pakistan and Egypt, has begun a distinctive model of professional volunteerism, community giving and human tolerance under the supervision of young Emirati humanitarian leaders, the Emirates Community and Specialist Volunteering Program, at the initiative of Zayed Al-Ata, Dar Al-Bar Association, the Charitable House of Sharjah, the Saudi-German Hospital Group and the Emirates Volunteer Center.
The campaign to treat the elderly complements the global humanitarian campaigns Zayed ben Sultan Al Nahyane, which over the last 20 years reached 25 million people all over the world through the largest series of mobile clinics and field hospitals in many countries, which have effectively contributed to finding realistic and direct solutions to the health problems of the poor.
Emirati cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Adel Al-Shamri Al-Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, President of the Emirates Giving and Head of Emirates Doctors, confirmed that Zayed Humanitarian Day is an annual occasion to launch humanitarian initiatives and adopt innovative programs that contribute effectively to enriching the humanitarian movement whose foundations were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan Al Nahyane, may God rest his soul in peace, and its wise leadership continues under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayed Al Nahyane, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed ben Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
He said : The wise leadership is keen to empower youth in the field of volunteerism and humanitarian work, and activate partnership between governmental, private and non-profit institutions to adopt humanitarian initiatives, whether at the local or global level, he said, noting that “UAE doctors” have launched the first global initiative to treat one million elderly people suffering from heart and chronic diseases, who are unable to bear the costs of diagnosis and treatment, especially as heart diseases are among the most widespread diseases and one of the most important causes of death.
Professor Shaskas Akhon of the International Heart Foundation said that the UAE is a pioneer in adopting global humanitarian initiatives, especially those concerned with the health of the elderly, who number more than 800 million elderly people worldwide. The number is expected to increase to more than 2 billion by 2050. The elderly suffer from several health problems specific to this group, many of whom are unable to afford diagnostic and treatment services.
Aging was an essential part of human life; They are prone to many diseases as a result of old age, which leads to a deterioration in their health and psychological condition, making them always in need of medical, home, family and, in some cases, nursing services.
