War of rumors – Muslim Brotherhood trying to spread chaos in southern Yemen
The capital Aden has become surrounded by rumors aimed at stirring up the situation in the south, in an attempt to find an excuse by the enemies of the south to interfere in its affairs.
Since the formation of Yemen’s Presidential Command Council, enemies of legitimacy – specifically the Houthi militias and their Brotherhood ally – have multiplied their targeting with the most rumor, with the aim of fomenting chaos in the southern regions.
The latest rumor related to images that penetrated social media, was circulated by Muslim Brotherhood media, and showed armed men atop the parliament building in the capital Aden.
The Brotherhood’s Al-Islah Party Brigades attempted to promote claims that official institutions in the south had become under military control, following the swearing-in of members of the Presidential Council, exposing the maliciousness of the Brotherhood’s intentions and its intention to undermine the south and its stability.
The Storm Forces Media Center refuted the allegations, issuing a statement carried by the official news agency Saba. The gunmen who appeared on the parliamentary stage in the capital Aden were not storm troopers.
The slogan the soldiers are carrying is not the emblem of the storm forces, as is shown in the photographs, the statement said.
At the same time, the Storm Forces Command stressed that it is against any wrong behavior by any of its members, and will not tolerate legal action against any soldier or officer of its own, and that the soldiers who appeared on the Parliament stand are not Storm Troops.
This rumor of the Brotherhood’s trumpets coincided with several campaigns launched by the Reform Party’s brigades in various sectors, and their main focus now seems to be on the security situation in the south to find a pretext for incursions into its territory.
The promotion of these claims showed that the war on the south is now a war of rumors, with the aim of undermining the security and stability of the south, and of trying to plant obstacles in front of the Presidential Command Council so as not to control the war compass on the Houthis, and to confront the dubious practices that the Al-Islah party has instilled over the past period and created many imbalances.
The Brotherhood does not want to achieve any security stability out of fear that the south will achieve more political gains, especially after the south became part of the decision-making process, with the presence of President Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council, as vice-chairman of the Command Council.
