4.9-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southern Philippine Province


An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck today in the province of Davao Occidental, located in the southern Philippines.

The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded 185 km from the area of José Abad Santos in the province, at a depth of 440 km, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

No reports of human casualties or material damage caused by the earthquake have been received so far.
