Researcher: The UAE plays a leadership role in enhancing development in Afghanistan
As part of its ongoing efforts to support Afghanistan, the UAE is making significant efforts to develop and modernize its airports. The UAE’s General Authority of Civil Aviation signed an agreement with Afghan authorities to provide ground-based assistance services at the three main Afghan airports.
The UAE has always been keen to support the Afghan people and stand by them in the various crises and challenges they have faced over the past years. It has worked to support development projects that are a priority for the Afghan government, especially those related to the development of the infrastructure sector.
“The UAE’s efforts are part of its commitment to strengthening infrastructure and capabilities and improving air services in Afghanistan, which has suffered greatly from conflicts and wars that have negatively impacted various aspects of life in the country,” Abdullah al-Shaiba, an Emirati writer and researcher, told 24.
“The UAE is one of the most prominent countries that provide constructive assistance to Afghanistan in the field of airport development,” al-Shaiba said. “One of the major projects led by the UAE in this regard is the development of Kabul International Airport, which is considered the main gate of the country and one of the most important airports in the region.”
An Economy and Jobs
He said UAE efforts are helping facilitate air travel and trade, strengthen the Afghan economy and create job opportunities for locals.
“The improvement of the air infrastructure in Afghanistan aims to provide improved air transport services to passengers and air cargo, and the UAE’s efforts in developing Afghanistan’s airports reflect its firm commitment to supporting development and stability in developing countries,” he said.
