5 Reasons for Women to Contract Cervical Cancer
The Egyptian Ministry of Health highlighted cervical cancer, coinciding with the global awareness month for it.
The ministry’s official Facebook page shared a post listing 5 reasons for contracting cervical cancer.
The causes of this disease include smoking, weakened immunity, stress, the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and early marriage before the age of 17.
Cervical cancer ranks fourth among the most common malignant tumors in women, according to the World Health Organization’s statistics.
The organization estimated 604,000 new cases of the disease in 2020, with 342,000 deaths in the same year.
Studies have confirmed increased chances of recovery from this disease when diagnosed early, along with initiating treatment promptly.
