Field sources reported to Al-Montasaf Net that the confrontations occurred after a full “company” of the Houthi militia defected and attempted to join the Giants forces on the Mal’a front, south of Marib.

According to the sources, the fighting lasted several hours in the Jabal Al-Mustaned area overlooking the village of Al-Haisha, near the Mal’a pass, resulting in casualties on both sides.

The sources also noted that the Houthis managed to prevent the defecting elements from joining the Giants Brigades, led by Abu Zar’a Al-Mahrimi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council.

Sources close to the Houthi movement revealed that there have been defections of field leaders and militia members in several provinces, according to Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni.

The sources confirmed that a wave of defections occurred in Al-Bayda province and its district of Rad’a, as well as in the provinces of Ibb, Dhamar, and Hajjah. They also indicated that there are unannounced warnings within the leadership structures of the Houthis regarding the implications of these defections in the current regional context.
