Wanted for $5 Million: Trump Administration Hunts Down Man Who Sells Death

His image rarely appears, but his influence is etched across crime maps throughout the Western Hemisphere.

He is Yulan Adonay Archaga Carias, leader of the MS-13 gang in Honduras, for whom the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump has offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture.

According to The New York Post, cited by Al-Ain News, the reward was renewed on Monday as part of the U.S. government’s efforts to combat the ultra-violent gang, which Trump officially designated a foreign terrorist organization earlier this year.

Who is Archaga Carias, and why is Washington pursuing him?

Known by the nickname “Porky,” Archaga Carias oversees various criminal operations for MS-13, including drug trafficking, money laundering, murder, and kidnapping, according to the U.S. State Department.

The $5 million reward was first announced in 2023 under the Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program.

In a statement, Attorney General Pam Bondi said: “This terrorist leader can no longer be allowed to roam free while the MS-13 gang wreaks havoc across American communities and the entire Western Hemisphere.”

She urged: “If you can contribute any information that leads to his arrest, come forward now.”

The New York Post noted that targeting MS-13’s leadership is one of the Trump administration’s highest priorities. FBI Director Kash Patel reaffirmed Monday that capturing Archaga Carias remains a top mission.

“Dismantling and eliminating MS-13 is a top priority for the FBI, and we will not stop until this mission is complete,” he stated.

One of the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted

The U.S. State Department reports that the fugitive Honduran gang leader—already on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted List—is directly responsible for smuggling “large quantities” of cocaine into the United States.

Derek Maltz, Acting Director of the DEA, warned that anyone harboring Archaga Carias will be pursued.

“Archaga Carias is not just a fugitive. He’s a foreign terrorist waging war on innocent Americans through murder, trafficking, and terror.”

“Let me be clear: under this administration, we will dismantle MS-13 piece by piece. Anyone protecting him will fall with him. A $5 million reward is on the table. Turn him in. End the threat.”

Facing Multiple Charges

At 43 years old, Archaga Carias was indicted in 2021 by the Southern District of New York for federal racketeering, drug trafficking, and firearms offenses.

According to the Department of Justice: “Archaga Carias and MS-13 provided firearms—including machine guns—to drug trafficking organizations. These weapons came from El Salvador, Nicaragua, and other locations.”

He is also accused of ordering the murders of rival gang members, drug trafficking competitors in Honduras, and fellow MS-13 members whom he suspected of betrayal.

If convicted, Archaga Carias faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum of 40 years.
