“A lighthouse lightening the region”… Arab and international praises “Expo Dubai 2020”
The UAE’s Dubai World Expo 2020 has received wide Arab and international acclaim, saying it is a step towards a new future and a beacon that will light up the region.
Arab Parliament
Mohammed Ahmed al-Yammahi, deputy speaker of the Arab Parliament, said the UAE’s organization of Expo Dubai 2020 is the culmination of all the great and constructive efforts made by the UAE and its leaders over the past years.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), al-Yammahi said that these constructive and great efforts have placed the UAE among the ranks of developed countries, in addition to its achievements on all political, economic and social levels.
Al-Yammahi congratulated the UAE’s wise leadership, led by Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayed Al Nahyane, President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed ben Rachid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abou Dabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for organizing this huge event, which coincides with the UAE’s celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary.
The event will be an important turning point in the history of the UAE, he said, and will provide a new platform from which the UAE will speak the world in a different way, in a new language, and in a new beginning on the anniversary of the golden jubilee.
Mauritania
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani congratulated the UAE on the successful launch of the international exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai”.
Ghazouani said: « I hope that our participation will be a qualitative contribution and that our country will be known as a bridge for Arab-African convergence and with opportunities for investment in our marine wealth, mines and renewable energy, agriculture and tourism».
Turkey
The Turkish Embassy in Abou Dabi is proud to have contributed to the Dubai 2020 International Expo.
On Twitter, the embassy expressed its wishes of success to the UAE in this important event.
Israel
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that “the Israeli wing of Expo 2020 Dubai” will open next Wednesday, and will hold commercial meetings in smart transportation, agriculture, and water. It is expected that some 15 million people will visit the pavilion, especially since this is the first time that Israel has a wing in a huge event in an Arab country.”
Lebanon
Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri tweeted: “The civilized scene Dubai launched to the world at the opening of Expo 2020 is a beacon that lights the region with great ideas, the will for development, peace and human connection,” he said.
He added: “I salute the United Arab Emirates, which writes pages that are clean and white in the history of the Arabs and wisely presents its wise leadership towards a rational future.”
Expo 2020 Dubai started receiving visitors from around the world today, inaugurating a new journey with the slogan “Connecting Minds, Creating Future’’.
After a long wait for the most important international event, the UAE opens its arms to start a new phase of collective international action to face common challenges and adopt creative ideas and creative minds in order to establish a prosperous and sustainable future for all humanity.
