The prisons of the Al-Islah party (the Muslim Brotherhood branch) in Marib province have witnessed a new crime, in which a Yemeni detainee was found dead on a city street with signs of torture. The crime has sparked widespread outrage, with activists describing the Al-Islah party’s prisons in the province as “Marib’s Saydnaya”, referring to the brutal abuses suffered by detainees, according to Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni.

Abdelqader Al-Murtada, head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, condemned the crime, stating that the Brotherhood’s prisons represent a “real catastrophe.”

This murder adds to a series of previous crimes, most notably the killing of poet Rashed Al-Hattam and young man Majid Mubarak Al-Amri Al-Jahmi, both of whom died under torture in Al-Islah party’s prisons in Marib.
