By spending millions of dollars.. Qatar seeks to acquire Western media

The Qatari regime continues to squander the wealth of the people in exchange for improving its image in the world. Unfortunately, wasting millions of dollars to improve its image is doing more harm than good; Millions are paid in the form of bribes, and when it is uncovered, it becomes a new corruption case added to the Qatari file, which is rich in corruption and bribery cases in various countries of the world.

Popular rejection

Informed sources revealed that the Qatari regime is seeking to implement quick steps to improve its image, after the Qatari regime’s treatment of the workers angered many human rights organizations around the world because of the shameful violations and acts of violence against them, in addition to keeping silent on the cases of death and diseases that workers suffer as a result of the poor conditions they work in. Informed sources added that Qatar is currently living in an ongoing attack by the Qatari people, who reject Qatar’s policies that allow the reception of homosexuals, despite the funded media campaigns to improve the image of the regime before its people and the world.

Hell of work

Purchasing Western media support was essential for the Qatari regime to stop global campaigns criticizing Qatari abuses against the country’s 2 million workers who suffer persecution, violence, and human rights violations. Thousands of workers have died in Qatar since 2010, and migrant workers from Africa and Asia have seen recent increases in death due to work pressures and the insistence of World Cup 2022 developers to finish quickly receiving these projects, Amnesty International said, concluding that migrant workers have been subjected to extremely difficult conditions and illegal long working hours in the extreme heat and without leave or rest, and other investigations have highlighted wage violations, with some workers not paying for five months.

Suspicious financing

The sources confirmed that the Qatari regime started implementing a plan to fund a large number of newspapers and news sites around the world to improve its image before the 2022 World Cup and to recruit celebrities to praise Qatari preparations. The US Fox News network published a report revealing hidden Qatari funding for the American New York Times, through the payment of funds for its book, and controlling its articles and coverage about the Middle East region, in what was described as a new scandal that hits the American media, confirming that it has become a penetrator.

The network reported that Qatar seeks to increase its influence in the American media, which witnessed great development during the past years, as the Qatari regime pays hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the support of these newspapers for the Qatari viewpoint on Middle East issues in general, and praising the Qatari preparations for the 2022 World Cup in particular.

Western media

Media reports revealed that the Qatari government succeeded in buying the remaining 20% of the British newspaper, The Guardian, to be now under its own ownership, clarifying that Doha succeeded in completing the deal to buy the remaining 20% of the Guardian to be controlled by the Qatari government, in an attempt to spread its control and influence on the biggest international newspapers, and directed sharp criticism to the Arab government, which the Qatari government wants to target, in addition to Qatar Sovereign Fund seeking to buy a large share of the shares of the Washington Post the United States, in a scheme to impose control on major media outlets around the world.
