Iran court condemns Sahar Tabar 10 years in prison for her pictures Zombie- like Angelina Jolie
According to one of Sahar Tabar lawyers, an Iranian girl who published distorted pictures resemble to zombie-like Angelina Jolie, a court in Iran has sentenced her for a 10-year jail punishment.
Saeed Dehghan, one of the lawyers in this issue, informed BBC Persian that he had heard the 10-year jail punishment news, however any official verdict had been released to the lawyers representing Tabar, whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand.
Indeed, Khishvand was detained in October 2019 with three other female social media influencers. He had initially a lot of followers in 2017 when she started sharing many pictures of her highly distorted face on her Instagram, and he had at that time more than 486,000 followers but his account closed after.
On his part, Masih Alinejad, a prominent Iranian journalist and opposition activist, informed the Daily Mail that she had talk to Tabar’s lawyer, who confirmed that Khishvand had been condemned to 10 years in prison on accusation of promoting public corruption.
Alinejad said in tweet on Friday: 10 years jail for Iranian Instagramer who used makeup & Photoshop to become a zombie Angelina Jolie. Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail. Her mother cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed. Dear Angelina Jolie! we need your voice here. Help us, appealing the Hollywood star to campaign on Tabar’s behalf.
Iranian state television made an interview last October with Khishvand, she seemed regretful and said that she regretted her actions. During the interview, she said: I saw people were following what I did and, when the likes grew, I felt I was doing the right thing.
