The company is investing tens of billions of dollars in artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and other metaverse-related technologies. These investments have pushed its capital expenditure forecasts for 2024 to a record level of between $37 billion and $40 billion.
Meta is also making several of its artificial intelligence models available as open-source tools for developers, believing that this approach can benefit its business by fostering the creation of better tools for its services.

In a statement, the company said: “We believe this research could pave the way for fully embodied agents in the metaverse.”
Meta stated that “Meta Motivo” addresses common issues with body control in digital avatars, helping them perform movements in a more realistic, human-like manner.
Among other AI tools released by Meta is “VideoSeal,” a technology that adds a hidden watermark to videos, making it invisible to the naked eye but traceable.
