‘Rezma’: New iranian militias supporting the regime… Get to know them
After nearly (4) decades of suppressing popular protests in Iran, Hossein Allah Karam, a leader in the Revolutionary Guard and one of the founders of the (Hezbollah Supporters) militias, has established another group with similar missions.
On Tuesday, Iranian media announced the formation of a new group called “Rezma” in a meeting attended by the Secretary-General of the founding body, Hossein Allah Karam, and other members of the founding body of these political and ideological militias.
In the founding statement of this party, the founders of “Rezma” presented themselves as “veterans of the Holy Defense, the (8) years war with Iraq,” defenders of shrines (Shiite holy sites), and security (through self-sacrifice). They claimed to continue on the “path and logic of self-sacrifice.”
According to the principles outlined by (Independent Arabia), the fundamental principles of this group include “belief in the guardianship of the jurisprudent, combating corruption, justice, simplicity, charitable work, efficiency, and revolutionary sacrifice.”
The founders of the “Rezma” party announced that their strategic goals revolve around the following issues: jihad issues, enhancing political and cultural awareness, combating aging, the Islamic lifestyle, rehabilitating revolutionary cadres, and supporting them in elections. They emphasized that they began their political activities with the aim of implementing the “Second Step of the Revolution” declared by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 11, 2019, coinciding with the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, calling for “continuing the 1979 revolution in the second step.”
In this statement, Khamenei emphasized changing the political outlook of Iranians in line with the interests of the regime and continuing hostility with the West and jihadist activities.
Over the past (4) decades, the (Basij) and (Hezbollah Supporters) forces have played a significant role in suppressing popular protests, acting as the executive arms of the regime through jihadist, cultural, and ideological activities. “Civilians in plain clothes” or “Hezbollah Supporters” were those who attacked students in the university campus in June 1999 and assaulted protesters in the streets in 2009.
In general, these militias were responsible for any violent clashes with citizens during protests against the regime. They were behind the burning of the “Morghe Amin” library, the attack on Cinema Quds, assaults on intellectuals, prevention of cultural lectures, and the prohibition of music concerts in various cities. They were also accused of committing serious crimes, including spraying acid on girls and women in the city of Isfahan.
(Hezbollah Supporters) militias, of which Hossein Allah Karam was one of the founders and still serves as its strategic council president, are considered an auxiliary force to the regime in suppressing opposition voices through the use of extreme violence. However, after two decades of the illegal activities of these radical political militias, and in coordination with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei with the aim of “defending the Islamic Republic system,” they announced their existence in the early 1990s.
