Sovereignty of Morocco over the Moroccan Sahara

US President Donald Trump: Today, I signed a proclamation recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara. Morocco’s serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal is the ONLY basis for a just and lasting solution for enduring peace and prosperity!
US President Donald Trump announced
the signing of a decree recognizing the sovereignty of Morocco over the Moroccan Sahara
and declared the opening of an American consulate in Dakhla city
while the King of Morocco Mohammed VI affirmed in the same day
its country’s intention to develop innovative economic and technological ties with Israel
Arab and international countries welcomed US-Moroccan statement
to establish diplomatic ties between them
and affirming that this decision would serve peace in the region
United Arab Emirates greeted the US declaration and Rabat decision
The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its hope that this deal would reinforce
efforts to establish full peace in the Middle East
Bahrain also congratulated Morocco about its decision
and welcomed the recognition of the sovereignty of Morocco over the Moroccan Sahara by America
Egypt also hailed the peace deal between the Kingdom of Morocco and Israel
In the West
United Kingdom welcomed declaration diplomatic ties establishment between Morocco and Israel
and considered it as a positive step between the two countries
The European Union also consider this move as important to contribute in the efforts for bringing peace to the Middle East
on its part, France welcomed the resumption of diplomatic ties between Morocco and Israel
