The Muslim Brotherhood’s militias loot Yemeni properties and occupy their homes in Taiz… Details

Soldiers affiliated with a military brigade linked to the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen have refused to comply with a court ruling requiring the evacuation of several citizens’ homes in Taiz after storming and occupying them, amid threats to kidnap and disappear the children of the rightful owners of these homes.

Activist Shaima Ramzi stated in a Facebook post, observed by the Al-Omanaa newspaper, that “members of the 22nd Mika Brigade, under the Islah front in Taiz, occupied several apartments in a building near Al-Shaab School, with the full knowledge and approval of the brigade’s leadership.” She emphasized that this blatant assault by the Brotherhood’s forces on her family is the result of leniency and failure to enforce the law.

She added: “We approached the courts, obtained rulings, and went to the brigade’s leadership. Commander Mohammed Al-Mahfadi directed the issue to the general staff and asked us for time to resolve the matter, even though it is not a problem but a clear and obvious violation. We have been stalled for several months.”

According to Shaima’s appeal, which she directed to all free citizens of Taiz, the local authorities, the military bodies, human rights organizations, and every free Yemeni, before this attack, one of the occupants had threatened one of the owners with disappearing her children.

Shaima criticized the military leadership in the Taiz front for their handling of the court ruling, accusing them of stalling, indifference, mockery, and failing to take any corrective actions.

She described what she called “indifference” as a “blank check” for the brigade members occupying the homes to commit these crimes, holding the leadership of the 22nd Mika Brigade and the leadership of the front responsible for everything happening, as well as the safety of her family and their property.
