Muslim Brotherhood Militants Violate Hospital Sanctity in Taiz… What Happened?

A Yemeni citizen was killed and another injured following clashes in the city of Taiz involving armed groups affiliated with the Al-Islah party, widely recognized as the Muslim Brotherhood’s political arm in Yemen.

According to local sources quoted by Al-Muntasaf Net, the violence broke out near Al-Rawda Hospital, before gunmen stormed the facility, firing inside the hospital premises. The incident left one civilian dead and another wounded, while spreading fear among patients and medical staff.

This event is part of a recurring wave of security chaos in Taiz, where military units linked to Al-Islah’s brigades have repeatedly raided hospitals and assaulted healthcare workers, taking advantage of the weakness of local authorities and security forces.

One of the most notable incidents occurred in February, when Syrian surgeon Dr. Mahmoud Abbas was injured during an armed incursion into a hospital. The attack sparked a wave of public outrage, both among the medical community and across social media, demanding serious investigations and an end to attacks on the healthcare sector.

Medical staff at Al-Rawda Hospital have since organized protests, demanding justice and the prosecution of those responsible for previous assaults.

The city of Taiz continues to suffer from increasing insecurity, putting citizens’ safety at risk and undermining the delivery of essential public services, particularly in the health sector.
