The return of Messi.. First “real” test with Paris Saint-Germain
Lionel Messi joins the Paris Saint-Germain team, which faces Manchester City in the first group of the Champions League on Tuesday, after missing the team’s last two matches in the French League due to a bruise on his knee.
The Argentine striker will appear in a lineup that also includes Italian midfielder Marco Ferrati, who is returning from a four-match absence due to another knee injury.
Saint Germain finished second in the group after a 1-1 tie with Belgian club Bruges.
English Manchester City leads the group, following a landslide 6-3 victory over German RasenBallsport Leipzig.
In other news, Messi returned to the national team roster after his recovery. He will participate in the South American qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The Argentine Soccer Federation had published the names of the formation of the “tango dancers” team, which will head to Paraguay on Thursday, October 7, to face on Sunday, October 10.
Argentina will face Peru on the 14th of the same month, and so far it has 18 points in second place behind top-seeded Brazil with 24 points from 8 games.
