After Friday prayers.. Bloody explosion inside a mosque in Afghanistan

Afghan sources reported, Friday, that there were killed and injured in a bombing inside the “Saied Abad” mosque in Khan Abad city, Kondoz province in northern Afghanistan.

Afghan media, citing eyewitnesses, reported that at least 50 people were killed and injured in a bombing inside a mosque in Khan Abad city, Kondoz province, northern Afghanistan.

Initial reports indicated that at least two people were killed and several others injured when a bomb exploded inside a mosque in Kondoz province’s Khan Abad city, but subsequent local news began to point to a “huge number” in the dead.

City officials said that the bombing took place as Friday prayers were ending.

Mohammad Jalal, a member of the Taliban cultural and media committee, described the mosque bombing in Kondoz province as horrific.

He said the Taliban are committed to taking serious steps to root out ISIS terrorists, who he said have no place in Afghanistan.

The attack was the first of its kind in Kondoz province, which borders Tajikistan, since the Taliban seized control of the province in early August.
