Egyptian authorities impose visa fees on all citizens of Arab States

The official account of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry has published a statement on Egypt’s imposition of visa fees on Kuwaiti citizens.

The statement, which was published on the official page of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on the social networking website Twitter, said on Thursday evening: “The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Cairo wishes to inform all Kuwaiti citizens wishing to travel to the sister Arab Republic of Egypt that the Egyptian authorities have imposed visa fees on all citizens of Arab States, amounting to US$25.”

The statement said the decision has been in force since March 13, 2021.

Earlier, the Egyptian Interior Ministry issued a decree requiring all Arab citizens to obtain a visa to enter Egypt.

The decision excludes countries that have bilateral or regional agreements with Egypt that include mutual exemptions from visa fees.
