Final results of Moroccan elections
The National Rally of Independents party has led the final results of Morocco’s three elections, whether local, regional or legislative.
Late on Thursday, the Interior Ministry completed the counting process for the September 8th elections.
On Wednesday, Moroccans went to the polls to vote on who will lead the public affairs for the next five years, locally, regionally and government.
A statement from the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior, revealed that the National Rally of Independents Party won first place in the legislative elections with 102 seats.
The Authenticity and Modernity Party came second with 86 seats, followed by l’Istiqlal with 81.
In fourth place was the Socialist Union of Popular Forces with 35 seats, followed by the Popular Movement Party with 29 seats.
The Party of Progress and Socialism won 21 seats, followed by the Constitutional Union with 18, and the Justice and Development Party with 13.
Ten seats went to other parties.
In the local elections, for the provincial and district councils, The National Rally of Independents party also led with 9,995 seats, followed by The Authenticity and Modernity Party with 6,210 seats.
The l’Istiqlal Party came third with 5,600 seats, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces 2,415, and the Constitutional Union Party 1,626. The Party of Progress and Socialism won 1,532 seats, compared to the Justice and Development’s Party only 77.
In contrast, 1,525 seats were distributed to other parties.
With regard to the allocation of seats for the regional councils, the National Rally of Independents won 196 seats, the Independence Party 144, the Authenticity and Modernity Party 143, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces 48, the Popular Movement Party 47, the Constitutional Union 30, the Progress and Socialism 29, and the Justice and Development Party 18; Other political parties won 23 seats.
