Houthi continue its violations towards civilians
Many states and organizations see that the cross-border assaults launched by Houthis in Yemen against neighboring Saudi civilians as an extension of the Iran-backed group’s war crimes.
However, International denunciation and warnings could not stopping Houthi ballistic missile and drone assaults frequently striking civilian targets.
On Sunday, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab denounced a ballistic missile assault by the Houthis on the Saudi capital, Riyadh. He actually said in a tweet: The UK condemns the latest Houthi missile and drone attacks targeted at Saudi Arabia and Marib.
He also added that these act put innocent lives at risk, and show that those responsible are not serious about peace, let alone protecting the Yemeni people, and he criticizing Houthi behavior.
Furthermore, Col. Turki al-Maliki, the spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab Coalition, stated that the Houthis were attempting in a systematic and deliberate way to target civilians, adding that Houthi violence violates international and humanitarian laws and prevent efforts for finding a political solution that stop conflict in Yemen.
Although Arab Coalition forces interrupted and demolished hundreds of Houthi missiles and drones launched against civilians, shrapnel from one of the Houthi ballistic missiles damaged via the roof of a residential property in Riyadh after it was interrupted. But, no victims were reported.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Houthi militia’s insistence on continuing these terrorist acts constitutes a continuation of the dangerous escalation that these militias are undertaking to harm the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and undermine the stability of the region.
Otherwise, Kuwait repeated its appeal to the international community, and the UN Security Council, to do their duties to limit the Houthis’ dangerous escalation and to keep international peace and security.
Besides, Qatar intensely denounced the Houthi missile assault that targeted Riyadh and stated that it was a dangerous act against civilians which contravenes all international norms and laws.
Moreover, the secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajjraf, denounced the terrorist Houthi militia, and said that the extension of such attacks showed a blatant challenge to the international community and revealed its disrespect for international laws and norms.
According to Hajjraf, that needed the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to cease the repeated terrorist actions that targeted vital and civilian installations and the security and stability of Saudi Arabia.
