The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the presidential statement of the UN Security Council condemning the terrorist attacks by Houthi militias on Saudi territory, which demonstrates its determination to reject the calls for a ceasefire in Yemen and to engage in the political process aimed at restoring security and stability in that brotherly country.
The Security Council statement issued by the President of the Security Council, which expresses the support of the international community for the sincere efforts of Saudi Arabia to find a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis and to put an end to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation of the brotherly Yemeni people, due to the practices of the Houthi militias and their violations of all international laws, was welcomed in the statement.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al Uthaymeen, welcomed the presidential statement of the United Nations Security Council, condemning the terrorist attacks by Houthi militias on Saudi territory and their civilian installations.
The Secretary-General stated: ”The Security Council’s condemnation of the crisis in Yemen underlines the special importance that the members of the Council attach to this crisis and recognizes the importance of finding a political solution to this crisis in order to limit its negative consequences, due to the rejection of calls for a ceasefire by the Houthi terrorist militias and the non-participation in political negotiations that would lead to the restoration of security and stability in Yemen”.
The disengagement of the humanitarian community further aggravates the humanitarian situation resulting from the continued practices of Houthi militias that block cities and prevent the delivery of humanitarian assistance to areas of Yemen in need.
Al Uthaymeen, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the member States of the Council for having taken note of this position, which was part of their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security, and for the considerable impetus given by the declaration for the success of Saudi Arabia’s regional and international efforts to arrive at a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
And in its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the statement of the President of the Security Council confirmed the special importance that the members of the Council attached to the crisis in Yemen and the need to find a political solution to that crisis in order to contain its negative repercussions as a result of the rejection of calls for a ceasefire by the Houthi terrorist militia.
