They Planned Terrorist Attacks: Pakistan Announces the Death of 14 Armed Militants
The Pakistani military announced on Wednesday that one soldier and fourteen armed militants were killed during a counterterrorism operation in the southwestern part of the country.
The Pakistani army said that the militants had been planning attacks against a police station and nearby banks in southwestern Pakistan, reaffirming its commitment to eliminating extremism from the country.
The incident took place on June 8 in the Nal area of Basima District, located in the province of Balochistan in southwestern Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Pakistani military’s Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate.

The statement said: “The terrorists were planning to attack a nearby police station as well as banks in the area.”
The military reported that four vehicles used by the militants were destroyed at the site, along with an improvised explosive device (IED).
However, the army’s public relations directorate also confirmed that a Pakistani soldier was killed during the exchange of fire between the two sides.
The military stated: “One of the nation’s brave sons, First Sergeant Mohammad Abbas, after fighting courageously, made the ultimate sacrifice and attained martyrdom.”
The army added that clearance and search operations are ongoing in the area to locate any additional “terrorists” who may still be present.
