During the attack, businessman John Hayes was stabbed in the leg, while Leanne Lucas, one of the workshop organizers, sustained serious injuries while trying to protect the children.
The announcement of the charges coincided with police crackdowns on riots in Britain due to false information about the attacker’s identity, which falsely claimed he was an asylum seeker, prompting authorities to urge people not to believe the rumors circulating on social media.
