Tunisian president appoints 13 new governors
Tunisian President Kais Saied on Monday appointed 13 new governors to the country.
Qais Saeed, Munther Sik Ali, was appointed governor of Al-Munastir Wasat, Khaled Al-Nouri as governor of Ariana (northeast), Mohammed Al-Ash as governor of Zaghouan (northeast), Nabil Al-Ferjani as governor of the coastal city of Sousse and Rida Al-Rukbani as governor of Kasserine.
Hafez al-Fitouri was appointed governor of Tataouine in the south, Abdelhalim Hamdi as governor of Sidi Bouzid in the center, Samir Kouka as governor of Jendouba in the northwest, and Sabah Malak as governor of Nabeul.
The decree also designated Mesbah Kardamin as governor of Gabes (southeast), Walid al-Abbasi as governor of Siliana northwest, and Fakhir al-Fakhfakh as governor of Sfax southeast.
The appointments came after Kais Saied, Najla Bouden, Prime Minister, and Taoufik Charfeddine, Minister of Interior, met at the Carthage Palace on Monday.
The meeting touched on the general situation in the country and efforts to prepare for the referendum on the constitution, scheduled for July 25th.
