Everything you need to know about the Emirati Field Hospital in Gaza

With the commencement of the humanitarian ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, and as part of the efforts of the United Arab Emirates to support the people of Gaza, the operations for the entry of the integrated Emirati field hospital into the southern Gaza Strip began on Friday through the Rafah crossing. This is to provide the necessary medical support to Palestinians in the sector.

An Emirati medical team will oversee the field hospital and provide medical care to the injured as part of the humanitarian operation “The Gallant Knight 3,” launched by the UAE under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the State, to support the Palestinian brothers, as stated in a statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The implementation of the Emirati field hospital will take place in several stages, with a capacity of more than (150) beds. It includes departments for general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia, intensive care for children and adults, as well as clinics specializing in internal medicine, dentistry, psychological counseling, family medicine, in addition to services such as CT scans, a laboratory, pharmacy, and supporting medical services.

The Emirati field hospital is part of the UAE’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and support the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip, which is facing exceptionally critical conditions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the role of citizens and resident volunteers in supporting the “Compassion for Gaza” campaign.

It is worth noting that the UAE has rushed to provide urgent humanitarian aid and supplies to the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the crisis. In this regard, the UAE President directed the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital within the Gaza Strip and provided assistance amounting to $20 million.

He also directed the hosting of (1000) Palestinian children along with their families from the Gaza Strip to provide all types of medical and health care they need in state hospitals until they recover and return, in addition to hosting cancer patients for treatment.

The UAE also sent (51) planes carrying (1400) tons of food and health aid, as well as shelter materials, in coordination with international organizations such as the World Food Programme.

Meanwhile, the people of Gaza are experiencing difficult humanitarian conditions since October 7 of last year, where the Israeli army has been waging a brutal war on Gaza, resulting in more than (14,854) deaths, including more than (6150) children, and more than (4,000) women, and (36,000) injured, according to Gaza government media.
