We destroyed their forces and nuclear laboratories: Trump outlines the results of the war against Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran had lost its air and naval forces as well as its nuclear laboratories.

Criticizing, on his social media platform, an article in The Wall Street Journal titled “Iranians Are Fooling Trump,” he wrote: “Really? For 47 years, they killed our people and many others, and they exploited every president except me — and what did I leave them? A devastated country! Their naval fleet is at the bottom of the sea, their air force is destroyed, their air defenses and radars are annihilated, and their nuclear laboratories and storage sites were leveled in one dark night in June by our great B-2 bombers.”

He noted that Iran had also lost its leaders, including General Qassem Soleimani, whom he describes as an “evil genius.”

Trump added that Soleimani “destroyed the lives of many people with his roadside bombs.”

He stated that “the Strait of Hormuz is under siege and fully controlled by the United States, and no ship is allowed to reach Iranian ports — they are said to be losing $500 million a day because of this — their country is an economic disaster, on the verge of collapse.”

He added: “Barack Hussein Obama gave them $1.7 billion in cash, airlifted on a Boeing 757 to their leaders, and hundreds of billions of dollars to help them on their path toward obtaining a nuclear bomb. Other presidents did nothing to stop them, what a disgrace to the presidency!”

He continued: “And despite all of this, I have an idiot on the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal writing that I am ‘naive.’ Iran certainly does not think so! Nor does anyone else.”

In another post, Trump said that “Iran does not want to close the Strait of Hormuz, but rather to open it to earn $500 million a day (which it would lose if it closed it!).”

He added: “They claim they want to close it only because I am imposing a total blockade on it (a complete closure!), they just want to save face. Some people contacted me four days ago saying: Sir, Iran wants to open the strait immediately. But if we do that, there will be no deal with Iran unless we destroy the rest of their country, including their leaders.”

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire with Iran until its leaders and representatives are able to reach a “unified proposal,” amid what he described as deep divisions within its government.

Writing on his platform Truth Social, he said: “Based on the fact that the Iranian government is experiencing deep divisions, which is not surprising, and at the request of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Pakistan, we were asked to delay our attack on Iran until its leaders and representatives can reach a unified proposal.”

He added: “Accordingly, I have directed our military forces to continue enforcing the blockade while remaining on alert and fully capable in all other aspects. Therefore, we will extend the ceasefire until this proposal is presented and discussions are completed, whatever their outcome may be.”

Trump’s statement came just hours before the expiration of a 15-day truce between the two countries, brokered by Pakistan.

As the truce neared its end, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Islamabad had urged the United States and Iran to extend the ceasefire.

Pakistan invited both parties to a second round of talks in Islamabad.
