“Global Finance”: The UAE is the second safest country in the world
The United Arab Emirates was ranked second in the “Safest Countries in the World” index in 2021, which was published yesterday by the British magazine Global Finance.
The magazine’s ranking of the countries of the world in terms of safety was based on several objective elements, the most important of which are natural disasters, crimes, terrorism and wars, in addition to a new feature that was recently added by the magazine from the current events in the world, which is the variable for safety from the contagion of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The idea of the index is to give each country a number of points equal to its level of risk and insecurity, which means that the higher the State’s balance of points, the less safe, and vice versa.
The UAE has the world’s second-lowest risk index, at 4.2043. Only Iceland, which has a score of 3.9724, is said to be the safest country in the world.
The UAE has always ranked high on various global safety indicators, most recently last September when it was ranked third on the list of the world’s safest countries in 2020 by the US-based Gallup Research Foundation.
