Israeli Military Kills Hamas and Islamic Jihad Field Commanders in Gaza

The Israeli military announced Tuesday that it had killed two field commanders from Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it had “eliminated Mohsen Farid Saeed Abu Hadaf, a commander of an Islamic Jihad missile cell, who infiltrated the Kissufim area during the October 7, 2023, attack.”

It added that Abu Hadaf had recently worked to “carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.”

In a separate statement, the Israeli military said it had “eliminated Ahmed Battash, commander of the Jabalia Battalion in the Northern Gaza Brigade of Hamas’s military wing.”

It added that “in his position, Battash was responsible for managing and organizing the weapons of the Northern Gaza Brigade, as well as coordinating and facilitating the supply of weapons and military equipment to Hamas members.”

It continued: “Battash worked to carry out attacks targeting Israeli civilians and Israeli soldiers and sought to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.”
