A military official told the press, in statements to Syrian state media, that “units of our armed forces operating on the northern Hama countryside axis have reinforced their defensive lines with various firepower, personnel, and equipment, and successfully repelled the militants, preventing them from achieving any breach.”

He added: “Our armed forces managed to secure several areas after driving out the militants, most notably Qalaat al-Madiq and Mardes, where they eliminated dozens of them, forcing the remaining ones to flee.”

The Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed that it would soon move to a counterattack to reclaim all areas and “liberate them from terrorism,” according to a statement.

In a statement, the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces declared: “The armed organizations continue, through all their platforms, to broadcast false news as part of a coordinated media war aimed at undermining the morale of our people and our valiant army.”

The statement highlighted that “these organizations have spread a massive amount of false news and rumors targeting several Syrian cities.”

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces urged citizens “not to pay attention to these platforms or believe the information they publish on their deceitful outlets.”

Finally, the General Command emphasized that “the operation to counter the terrorist attack is proceeding successfully and resolutely, and a counterattack will soon be launched to reclaim all areas and liberate them.”
