Algeria: Strange decision by Djamel Belmadi sparks controversy

Algerian national coach Djamel Belmadi and his men will have to prove themselves in the two friendly matches scheduled for the end of September.

The Algerian team led by Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi will meet his counterpart Guinean national team on Friday 23 September 2022 and the Nigerian team on 17 September 2022.

According to the Algerian Football Federation, national voter Djamel Belmadi will play his two friendly matches on the ground of the new stadium of Oran Miloud-Hadefi, according to Algerian sports news site FennecsFootbal.

According to a reliable source, the Algerian coach made a rather strange decision.

It seems that the coach of the Algeria team and his men will prepare for the two friendly matches at the Sidi Moussa center in Algiers.

He made the decision to go to Oran only 24 hours before each game.

The Algerian coach also prefers to go straight back to Algiers after each match, in order to keep his players away from the fans for fear that they would be subjected to psychological pressure that would affect their performance during the two friendly matches.

According to the media outlet AWRAS, the Algerian coach is expected to arrive in Algeria early next week to hold a meeting with the president of the Algerian Football Federation Djahid Abdelwahab Zefizef.
