Mahmoud Mahdi Al-Sharif is a professor of the principles of jurisprudence at the University of the Quran and the foundation of sciences in Sudan. He was dismissed from his position for inciting strikes or inciting resignations, and Professor Abkar Abdel Bannat Adam Ibrahim took over as director of the University of the Quran and the foundation of sciences, succeeding Dr. Mahmoud Mahdi Al-Sharif under decisions from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2019.

In 2022, Dr. Mahmoud Mahdi Al-Sharif thanked the representative of the employees returning to their positions for their management of the university, which celebrated their return, affirming that those who were dismissed did not incite strikes or resignations during their suspension, but demanded that the university continue its objectives for the country’s welfare, and declared that all returning employees supported the court’s decision to support the university administration.
