Major Upgrade for Siri… Which iPhones Are Compatible?

Siri has received a fresh new look and AI-powered features from Apple, but unfortunately, not all iPhones will be able to take advantage of them.

You may have noticed Siri’s glowing new design in advertisements and on social media, where a rainbow of colors now wraps around the edges of the iPhone screen when the virtual assistant is summoned.

However, does your iPhone still display the familiar Siri orb at the bottom of the screen, even with iOS 18.3?

Device Compatibility

While it may seem trivial, Siri’s new appearance is more than just a visual change. It is part of Apple Intelligence, which also includes notification summaries, Genmoji, and the cleaning tool in Photos.

To access Siri’s latest features, your iPhone must support Apple Intelligence.
Since most AI processing happens directly on the device, only a few models are capable of running these new technologies, including:

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max

Apple Intelligence will also be available on Macs and iPads powered by M-series chips, as well as the latest iPad Mini, which runs on the A17 Pro chip.

If you own one of these models, you’ll see the new vibrant look when calling Siri.

Siri Language Settings

At the moment, Apple Intelligence is not yet available worldwide and currently only supports English.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy Siri’s new features, the first thing you need to do is go to Siri’s settings and set the language to English.

Of course, support for additional languages will roll out later this year, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
