Russian Foreign Minister: International efforts should be intensified to reach a peace settlement in Libya

The RIA news agency stated that Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, announced on Wednesday that it is necessary to intensify the international efforts to reach a peace settlement in Libya.

Indeed, Libya entered into chaos after the overthrow of leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 with NATO’s support. While, the two major parties in the country’s war, the Government of National Accord (GNA) and Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Khalifa Haftar, agreed to a ceasefire in October.
