Saudi Arabia: accidental explosion of unserviceable ordnance

The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that an accidental explosion took place in one of the squares used to collect and destroy unserviceable ammunition remnants outside the city of Al-Kharj.

Gen. Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, said that the explosion occurred early Wednesday morning in one of the yards used to collect and destroy unusable munitions.

Al-Maliki said that the explosion did not cause any injuries or damage, and is being followed up, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
