Kais Saied was subjected to an assassination attempt- Chairman of the International Counter-Terrorism Forum reveals details

Suspicions surround the Brotherhood in Tunisia and its terrorist elements, holding them responsible for carrying out a number of assassinations to cause chaos in the country, the latest of which was the attempt against the Tunisian President himself, Kais Saied.

Assassination attempt

Mondher Guefrach, President of the International Forum to Resist Extremism and Terrorism in Tunisia, said that Tunisian President Kais Saied was the target of an assassination attempt, but he was not injured in that terrorist attempt, adding that the information about the assassination attempt is very little, but it confirms that there was a terrorist assassination attempt near the presidential palace in Carthage.

The head of the International Forum to Resist Extremism and Terrorism pointed out that investigations are currently being conducted in a strict and fast manner to identify and arrest the elements who participated in the assassination attempt. No official entity has yet published or announced this terrorist attempt to target the Tunisian president.

Not the first attempt

This was not the first attempt of its kind. The Tunisian Ministry of the Interior revealed last June, during a press conference in the center of the capital Tunis, an attempt to target Tunisian President Kais Saied. These threats represent a new development in the open war on terrorism in Tunisia. The Tunisian Ministry of the Interior announced the foiling of an assassination attempt on President Kais Saied and the targeting of his surroundings from internal and external parties.
