Free Destourian Party accused the other parties of abandoning the against Political Islam
The Free Destourian Party has accused Tunisian opposition parties, especially the leftist movement, for leaving their fight against political Islam, appealing the leaders to back the formation of a strong political front against parties that make threat for the civil state.
Indeed, Leader of the Free Destourian Abir Moussi called, in a letter to President Kais Saied, the National Security Council to hold an emergency gathering for taking the necessary procedures and protect the nation from the dangers of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) and Muslim Brotherhood, who are active in Tunisia via Ennahda movement.
She also showed proofs that are supporting allegations that IUMS violated the Tunisian constitution, the international deals on women and family’s rights, and the Personal Status Law.
According to Moussi, the government of Hichem Mechichi intentionally eased attacks by groups under its cover, allied with the Muslim Brotherhood, against the Free Destourian’s protest outside the Union headquarters in Tunis.
In the meantime, Mohsen Marzouk, the Head of Machrouu Tounes, declared the formation of a political alliance with Moussi, with a condition to not give statements that are against Ennahda or contribute to separating Tunisians.
He also accused Karama Coalition that supports the Ennahda movement, of launching a proxy war on behalf of Rached Ghannouchi, who has become the political arm of terrorism.
Besides, activist Olfa Youssef, who is a known adversary of political Islam, stated that left-wing parties are backing Nidaa Tounes party and its late leader Beji Caid Essebsi, while they refuse to support the Free Destourian and its leader, even that the two sides have the same political orientation.
