Unidentified Ballistic Missile: North Korea Launches New Missile Toward the Sea of Japan

South Korea’s military announced on Thursday that North Korea had launched an unidentified ballistic missile toward the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul stated that “North Korea has fired an unidentified ballistic missile toward the East Sea,” which is also referred to as the Sea of Japan.
This launch comes at a sensitive time, just one week after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered the acceleration of nuclear weapons development for the country’s naval forces.

The missile test occurs amid growing nuclear threats from North Korea, which insists that possessing nuclear weapons is essential to deter what it describes as “aggressive military maneuvers” conducted by the United States and South Korea.
In April, North Korea revealed several military plans for the coming months, including the development of a new destroyer named “Choi Hyun,” which may be equipped with short-range tactical nuclear missiles.
