UAE delegation in Ankara to discuss cooperation in defense industries
After Abou Dabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane returned from a visit to Ankara, an Emirati delegation traveled to discuss military cooperation, an indication of the two countries’ desire to strengthen relations as soon as possible.
A source in the Turkish defense industry, according to Russian media, said that a UAE government delegation began yesterday a visit to Ankara to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense industries, without mentioning more details, according to “MENA”.
According to media reports, the UAE is in talks with the Turkish government to buy a stake in the Turkish defense company Aselsan.
Abou Dabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed arrived in Ankara at the end of last month after a 10-year break. The two countries concluded several agreements in the fields of investment, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The UAE announced the launch of a $10 billion fund to support investment in Turkey.
