To boost bilateral relations and achieve common interests – The return of the UAE ambassador to Tehran
The United Arab Emirates has announced the return of its ambassador to Tehran, following its previous decision to upgrade diplomatic representation to an ambassador.
UAE Ambassador Saif Mohammed al-Zaabi will return to the Iranian capital in the coming days, a statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said.
The statement said the step was taken in response to a July 26th phone call between UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheik Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Iran’s Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
It said the decision was based on ongoing coordination with the Iranian Foreign Ministry in accordance with diplomatic norms.
The Ministry explained that Ambassador Al-Zaabi will return to exercise his diplomatic duties at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Iran in the coming days to contribute to pushing forward bilateral relations in coordination and cooperation with officials in Tehran in the interests of the two neighboring countries and the region.
