New Houthi escalation: Mokha port targeted with ballistic missiles

The Houthi militias launched a new attack on Mokha port on Wednesday, firing several ballistic missiles and causing multiple explosions in the Red Sea coastal city.

Local sources said that several Houthi ballistic missiles struck the port’s maritime pier, further increasing the scale of damage and casualties at the facility.

On Tuesday, the Houthi militias had already launched around 10 ballistic missiles and four drones at various positions along the western coast, including Mokha port. The National Resistance, meanwhile, announced that it had shot down a booby-trapped drone.

Last Sunday, the Houthi militias attacked Mokha port with more than 21 missiles and drones, as well as explosive-laden boats. The attack killed seven people, including two civilians, and wounded 34 others, among them workers at the strategic port.

The Houthi attacks caused extensive damage to the facilities and piers of Mokha port. Observers have described the strikes as a sign of military failure and said they may constitute war crimes under international law.
