UAE welcomes the world at Expo Dubai 2020.. Waiting is over and doors are open
Expo 2020 Dubai started receiving visitors from around the world today, starting a new journey with the slogan “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future “.
After a long wait for the most important international event, the UAE opens its arms to start a new phase of collective international action to face common challenges and adopt creative ideas and creative minds in order to establish a prosperous and sustainable future for all humanity.
Expo 2020 Dubai launched its historic and exceptional launch yesterday with the “Concert of the Century”, which was held in Al-Wasl Square, which forms the heart of Expo and links its three axes, “Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunities.” The ceremony was an exceptional milestone in the history of the World Expo, which was launched more than 170 years ago.
Inspiring message
Prior to the launch of the ceremony, Reem Ebrahim Al-Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of EXPO 2020, sent an inspiring message to the media in her statements. She confirmed that EXPO is a project for all of us, and we look forward to embodying the spirit of the Emirates, which is superior to all countries of the world, and highlighting the authentic heritage of the UAE and our ancient values and traditions.
She confirmed that Expo 2020 Dubai belongs to everyone and we look forward over the course of 182 days to highlight the UAE’s role in this international forum.
For his part, Dimitri Kirkentz, Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, said that Expo 2020 brings us together under the slogan “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future” over a period of six months, in order to contribute to shaping a better world in which we overcome our challenges and look forward together to building a prosperous future for all.
He added: “Here at Expo 2020 Dubai, “Connecting Minds” remains the cornerstone of cooperation, partnership and collaboration. The values that Expo espouses are our common priorities, while “Creating the Future” aims to contribute to the development of strategies for international cooperation towards sustainable development.”
Expo 2020 Dubai is a pride for everyone
For her part, Sumaya Al Ali, Director of the Department of Governmental Relations at Expo 2020, said in statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM): “Our feeling is indescribable and we are proud of the UAE’s organization of Dubai World Cup 2020 for the first time in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia under the slogan ‘Connecting Minds and Making the Future’.”
She added that the international community’s trust in the United Arab Emirates is great, and today we host delegations from more than 192 countries and visitors from around the world over the course of six months under the umbrella of connecting minds and creating the future. We are proud of our important role as national cadres in this prominent global event.
Hind Al-Bum, Head of Content Design and Development, Office of the Managing Director of Expo 2020 Dubai, said that we are proud to have reached this impressive stage with the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, the biggest event in the world and the first of its kind in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. She noted that the UAE welcomes the world today on its soil to work together to serve humanity.
She added that we were keen to organize an integrated program for all participants in order to exchange creative ideas, adopt creative solutions to all challenges facing the world and work to establish a sustainable future in the world.
She pointed out that the “Man and the Planet” program will be organized during the global event, noting that this program is an innovative schedule of events, experiences, intellectual pioneering dialogs and public discussions aimed at finding solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
10-week program
The program will feature 10 weeks of topics and 18 international days, each of which will address key issues of global importance, she said, adding that participants will discuss solutions to global challenges such as climate change, the digital divide, education, healthcare and health.
More than 220 events will be held in the context of the program, she said, such as major forums and official conferences, as well as seminars and workshops, through the Global Council series, a platform dedicated to the communication of minds from Expo 2020 Dubai.
World Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai from October 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022. It is the first international Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The event will host the best music, architecture, technology and culture shows from around the world throughout its stay.
