Morocco Dismantles Terrorist Cell That Exploits Children in Bloody Acts

Moroccan authorities have successfully dismantled an ISIS terrorist cell that planned to exploit children in deadly acts.

According to a statement by the Central Bureau of Judicial Research, the cell that was dismantled in the early hours of Tuesday morning was made up of 4 extremists aged between 22 and 28 years.

The detainees were active in a desert area between the cities of Marrakesh and Asfi, the statement said.

Field research and technical tracking operations have been able to gather accurate information about the terrorist project of the leader of this cell, who was betting on implementing the agendas of international terrorist organizations to strike targets and projects inside Morocco.

The “emir” planned to join the ISIS branch in the Sahel region, after establishing ties with a leader in its ranks who holds the nationality of a foreign country and resides outside the kingdom.

The statement said the individual had been instructed to join ISIS’s battle camps to train in the manufacture of explosives and select targets.

The cell leader used his professional skills acquired in “welding” to manufacture and prepare white weapons and IEDs, and conducted practical experiments in manufacturing and operating such IEDs.

The man then intended to acquire chemicals used in the manufacture of these explosive devices from a commercial shop in the city of Marrakesh in preparation for his terrorist project inside the Kingdom.

The Central Bureau of Judicial Research said that the recruitment and recruitment process has been completed, and all cell members have been fully involved in this terrorist project. This is before the stage of the physical execution of the sabotage plans, which were identified as immediate targets and which targeted vital facilities and security headquarters.

The cell identified individuals for physical elimination using a white weapon, as part of the methods of individual terrorism inspired by ISIS operations.

According to the statement, the members of the terrorist cell had made a bet on the recruitment and recruitment of young children to spread extremist ideology by organizing advocacy meetings for minors in the rural areas where they are active, in order to indoctrinate them with the extremist ideology of the “cubs of the caliphate” approach adopted by ISIS.

Search operations and technical surveys of the houses of the detainees and a shop attached to the main suspect’s residence seized white weapons of various sizes, information equipment, welding machines and chemicals suspected of being used in the preparation and preparation of improvised explosive devices.
